Terrace gardening is becoming increasingly popular among urban residents, but getting started remains challenging. Limited space, lack of gardening knowledge, and busy lifestyles make it difficult for beginners to confidently grow and maintain plants. These barriers often discourage long-term adoption, reducing the opportunity to create healthier, more sustainable living spaces.
By using guided onboarding, personalized recommendations, smart reminders, terrace planning tools, and expert support to make terrace gardening simple, organized, and beginner-friendly.
To better understand the problem space, I conducted secondary research, analyzed existing gardening platforms, and reviewed user discussions across online communities to identify common challenges. I also performed a competitive audit to evaluate current solutions and uncover opportunities for improvement. My initial assumption was that most beginners struggle to start and maintain a terrace garden due to limited time, space, and practical gardening knowledge.
The most significant insight was that beginners don't just need plant information—they need clear, personalized guidance throughout their gardening journey. This shaped the product around guided onboarding, tailored recommendations, and timely support to build confidence from day one.
